Her unique voice and phrasing give each song a fresh perspective. Eugenia voice and diversity of music offer a flavorful mixture of jazz, gospel, theatrical with a little addition of international flavor.

Background

Eugenia’s musical journey began from childhood; however, her talent became obvious as a lead soprano soloist with her College Choir which enabled to travel away from her native Liberia for the first time. Eugenia later got married and moved around in the Middle East Africa and Greece.

While living oversea in Athens, Greece before moving to New York City, Eugenia was known as the jazz lady that would do an impromptu sassy rendition of songs like Fever and Summer Time while hanging out with friends at a piano bar. Her passion for music makes her easily recognize a beautiful song in a foreign language like Kokkino Garifallo which is sung in the Greek language by Gianni Parios and Haris Alexiou.

Eugenia later moved to New York City and studied Voice and Performance at the New School for Music and The Turtle Bay School of Music in New York City. Since then, she has intermittently been wowing audiences with performances at many venues including the Kennedy Center Jazz Room, NAACP Award Events, Rotary Club Cruises, Sweet Mother Awards and even, at former Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf’s Annual New Year’s Day Open House Event.  Eugenia has also performed at many weddings, private Milestone events and churches.

Although derailed from the active music scene in many instances including COVID-19 and other life’s demands, Eugenia has never given up on musical journey. In her own words, “it’s music that keeps me going.”
